The hotel itself is not bad, with common areas such as the pool and a private beach. The staff are very good but the rooms are quite dirty, some even have cockroaches and refrigerators that do not work. Generally the hotel is in need of many improvements. Breakfast was very poor. The staff are very friendly. At the pool bar you can eat very well and very cheap. If you however go down to the beach there are enough bars to eat fish or seafood at great prices.
This is a resort in Sokone, Senegal, close to the border with Gambia, specializing in hunting and fishing, with some beautiful bungalows and a very inviting pool on the river.
The bar is a Sunday meeting point for all the French expatriates in the area to drink their Ricard. It is located just a few kilometers from the main road, so you have to call ahead to make a reservation and so that staff can come collect you.
This hotel is in the delta of the Sine-Saloum river in Toumbacouta, in the Fatick region. The delta is a national park 270 km from Dakar, which seems like 500. It took seven hours to get there along a very bad road. The same goes for the hotel on the shoulder of land across the field. I slept alone in a bungalow that are like the huts where the natives live. The surroundings are full of birds. It's an ideal place for bird lovers. There are also red and green monkeys and lots of fish. You eat well. There is a swimming pool, thankfully, and it's like an oasis in the middle of the Senegalese Savannah.
It is very close to the entrance of Niokolo Koba National Park, next to the river Gambia. We found it in a guide and did not disappoint us. It has 20 bungalows, huts, and low light. It is switched on at 6-7 in the morning and a little while in the evening. So much so that the key is coupled with a flashlight. I had two flashlights, a head torch and a handtorch. Both were useful. It is very well kept and excellent dining. From there trips are arranged to visit the park and walk along the Gambia River to see crocodiles and hippos. We also provide car service if needed. It is a place in the jungle, surrounded by animals. I loved it. The staff. The only thing missing is the pool.
In Senegal, one of the few tourist areas is situated on the beach of Saly. If you are looking for a mega resort, but a charming hotel with direct access to the beach, away from the sellers and well located, within walking distance of the town by the beach, the Hotel Royam is the perfect place for you. It consists of a set of quaint cottages, very spacious, well equipped and clean, with a large, heated swimming pool. Although the staff do not speak French (the official language) nor do they speak any of the other languages of the place, neither English, it was no problem. Senegal is the country of the teranga (hospitality), and they certainly live up to their reputation. The hotel is occupied by "other inhabitants of the place" but are harmless ....
The Hotel Les Paletuviers is located on the banks of the Saloum Delta. The rooms are small bungalows painted on the outside with natural motifs, and inside with scenes of everyday Senegalese life. There is a large swimming pool and a restaurant where you can enjoy a wide and varied menu. At night the young men organise typical regional dances. From the hotel, you can organize boat trips to the surrounding villages. The boat can catch from the pier of your hotel.
After a trip from Saint-Louis, stopping in Dakar and across Gambia, we arrived to Ziguinchor where we stayed at the Hotel Kadiandoumagne. The arrival was at sunset and we witnessed a spectacular sunset. There are no words to describe those moments that were reflected in the photos.
A magical place to stay in the desert of Lompoul. It is true that it doesn't have all the comforts to which we are used to in a conventional hotel, but the charm of the place makes up for everything. It's wonderful to sleep on a candlelit haima, showering in their basic bathroom and eating under the stars.
One of the best places to stay in the Casamance; a French-run hotel with pool and free wifi for customers, very clean and comfortable, on one of the main streets of Ziguinchor. The restaurant is expensive, but just across the street there is a delicious Senegalese restaurant
At the gates of Niokolo Koba Park there is this camp, in a unique location overlooking the jungle and the river Gambia. A very peaceful place to stay and relax. You can go on excursions to the Gambia River to see wildlife (numerous birds, hippos ...)
This is an original way to spend your holiday in Senegal. It consists of renting a villa in the orange area of Saly, situated in a quiet wooded area. The domain is constructed on a plot of 450m2 with trees. Of those, 97m2 are habitable. All houses are equipped with AC and are comfortable. It also has a lovely covered terrace with garden furniture. Conclusion: Living room - kitchen, 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms and a mezzanine with 1 bed for 2 people.
A hotel with about 28 fully equipped suites with Jacuzzi and shower, hairdryer, satellite TV, telephone and pool. It also has a restaurant with tasty dishes and a friendly atmosphere. The atmosphere is friendly and very well attended by the staff working in hotel.

The Akuaba House in Dakar is a great place to start your journey in Senegal and share experiences and information with other travellers. Nico de la Carrera will pick you up and welcome you like a friend to his home. He will help you with any questions you have about Senegal, and if you want, he will organize your route around the country. The best is that he picks you up at the airport. The lodging is in apartments, great if you're travelling in a group.
This camp with its few bungalows and showers, is a great place to stay when visiting the National Langue Barbarie Park . The owners are a European couple that have been there since '96. Apart from accommodation they offer guided canoeing in the Park for bird watching and other activities. It's cheap and very nice.
