    Soaltee Crowne Plaza hotel
We arrived directly from Kathmandu airport to the hotel, just outside the city, and there it was more quiet. This hotel, n the language of the people, is pronounced soltil (which means OLD FRIEND). A large hotel has an Italian restaurant!! What a relief after eating so much spicy food. What disappointed me was that they said they spoke 10 languages, one of them being Spanish...nope. The guide told is to eat in a hotel was very cheap, 7 or 9 Euros maximum, but nothing is expensie to eat in the hotel. THey showed us images of the big room, strange bathroom, a shower that was part crystal, and water didn´t even come out.

    The Wood Pigeon hotel
It is not an easy feat to find [poi = 107192] Pokhara [/ poi] a cheap and decent hostel near the lake. By a stroke of luck, whilst walking with my backpack in tow, I had the great good fortune to discover The Wood Pigeon, almost the last house before the end of Lake Side (the main street in Pokhara). This simple little hotel is clean and very quiet, and the rooms are equipped with private bathrooms. They are overlooking the lake and the views are spectacular. Their windows are so big and the view is amazing (the photos attached are taken from there). You can stay lying in bed for hours watching the scenery. The people who run the hotel are very friendly. Right there you can order a laundry service, which is usually done on the same day. There is even hot water!

    Bandipur Guesthouse
Upon arriving in this gorgeous little town, the staff at the Inn welcome you with genuine smiles. No big deal, but just the fact that we even found this place to sleep and was appreciated. Clean rooms, tiny and young and attentive service. Just pay between € 2 and € 4 depending on the size of the room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner better ask in advance and we will gladly prepare it because incidentally, are not readily available to eat in these places.

    Sunny Guest House Hotel
Finding a charming, yet clean hotel that's cheap and has hot in Nepal isn't easy. But sometimes magic happens. The Sunny Guest House Hotel can be found in the beautiful city of [poi = 120189] Bhaktapur [/ poi] and it really is a dream come true. Its location across from the Temple of Nearnyatapola, is perfect, its rooms, all different, large, and with wonderful beds are decorated with charm. Some have incredible views of the square Taumadhi (attached photos that are taken from my room), something to consider when making your reservation. The Sunny has a restaurant with delicious dishes and a terrace with views frankly priceless. Latest: Your manager, Bijaya Dhimal, is a charming, always ready to overcome any problem.

Super View Top (aldea de Tadapani, Annapurna) Lodging
Like all shelters where you take refuge during the treks to Annapurna, the Super View Top, in the remote village of Tadapani, has no electricity (only a generator that gives light at a certain time of night), no hot water, no toilets and no phone. That's right: The shelters in this part of the world only provide a room where you do not die of cold and you have to sleep fully clothed, inside your sleeping bag. They have dining room with long tables where you get plenty of typical local food. But none of this matters when you look out of any window or door of the hostel and see the fabulous view around you. The Fishtail is unique among the clouds and lit by an unreal moon (I happened to witness it full, as seen in the photos), silhouetted against the sky.

    The Mountain House
We spent some really great days in Pokhara, and this is partly thanks to Stan and his wife Indira. In Pokhara we were just looking for a place to sleep, but The Mountain House exceeded our expectations. Its facilities are normal for a pension, but the friendliness of the staff make you feel at home. Stan was helpful to us at all times helping when we were planning our trips and his wife Indira prepared the best meal we had had so far in Nepal: regional home. There was no better way to start the day than with breakfast on the terrace. And if we agreed it with Indira, we were prepared a typical Nepalese meal home cooked asalways, it was much appreciated. The only drawback, which is not large, as it occurs throughout the country, are power cuts. In a more upmarket hotel they might have standby power for the entire establishment, but in most, when the cuts occur, the supply in the room is reduced to a lamp, so it would not be fair to blame mismanagement by the establishment. They also donateto a small portion of their profits go to help an orphanage that is located near Khatmandu, with whom they have established a partnership.
    Hostels in Pokhara
    Hotel Yeti Pokhara
This pint-sized hostel offers very clean and very spacious rooms. Its location, just in front of the lake and its wonderful views, known as the "roof of the world" make it a great choice and very inexpensive if you come to the city of Pokhara. The roof of the world consists of about 6 peaks between 5 and 7 thousand feet. Its center is dominated by the famous Anapurna, translated as "fishtail". Its sunsets are known worldwide, as the front of the Anapurna turns bright orange and becomes one of the natural wonders of the world. In the hostel there is no restaurant but less than 100m. away you will find more than 20 of them. The price goes up or down in relation to the people there at the time but varies between 2.5 and 5 euros per night. Speechless!

    Himalaya Guesthouse hotel
The Himalayas guesthouse was one of the first to open in Kathmandu in the late 70's; many great travelers have stayed in its spartan rooms, including some of the original American and British hippies. It stands in a side street off Freak Street, where little or nothing has changed in over thirty years. The guesthouse itself is more or less the same. The owner opened another (the Himalayas II) a few years ago on Basantapur Square, with a panoramic roof top restaurant.

    Hotel Ganesh Himal
I was in this hotel for two weeks in September 2010. It's situated close to Thamel, away from the hustle and bustle and about 10 minutes from Durbar Square. It's clean and has a very friendly environment. It has a pretty garden that's ideal to relax. The restaurant is also highly recommendable, as much for it's Nepalese food as for its continental. Also, there's a good price-quality ratio here. Without a doubt, I would return to this hotel if I visit Kathmandu again. Very recommendable.
