The Changsha Huatian Hotel was opened in 1985 as the first luxury hotel 5 star hotel in the province of Hunan. It offers modern comfort combined with excellent service. The guestrooms include air conditioning, color TV with satellite programs, mini-bar, safe, internet access and broadband dial telephone service. There´s additionally a laundry and dry cleaning service, medical clinic, a photography kiosk and 24 hour room service.
The Heyuan intenational Hostel in Beijing was where we stayed our first night in Beijing before moving to Yard Hostel (which was where we had our reservation). We arrived one night earlier than planned to Beijing so we stayed in this hostel. Heyuan International Hostel is an amazing hostel, it has beautiful Chinese architecture in the courtyard. The bar service restaurant offers quality western breakfasts and stunning decor. This is a great place.
The hotel Ying Zhou International Hotel is a 4 star business hotel which is situated in the center of Yancheng, near the Fromlugong Ancestral Temple and the Great Mall. The hotel has a classic garden, and classic construction. It offers 205 rooms, Standard, Superior, Business. Each room features high-speed internet connection. In addition access is available to Chinese and English newspapers, satellite TV. There are also 9 meeting rooms.
The White Mansion Hotel, also known as Hotel Baisha (the transcription of its Chinese name), is located in one of the most remote areas of North Sichuan Road. It's one of the cheapest hotels in the area that can be booked online, with standard rooms starting at 18.00 euros per night. For this price you can enjoy a single room with a bathroom, and for 2 or 3 euros more you can have a larger bed. The internet connection is unlimited (cable), although it's not the quickest in the world. Be careful as not all the rooms have an internet connection; we had to change our first room for one that did. The hotel is old, the service isn't fantastic, but it's clean and the facilities are decent (at least on the floors aimed at western tourists - apparently it's not the case on the floors for Chinese tourists!). I wouldn't recommend it for a great holiday, but for a budget destination, it's fine.
The Chaohu International Hotel is a four star resort located in one of the most picturesque areas of the city. The hotel offers many services for business including conference rooms and has a Chinese restaurant serving local specialties and international dishes. It offers car rental, parking and a business center.
The City Hotel Xian is a 3-star hotel. It is very well located in the center of Xian, near the bell tower. The single rooms are very small. So it is worth paying a little more, 22 - 24 euros with breakfast, and asking for a Big Standard (double) or a Junior Suite. At the breakfast buffet, you will find Chinese-style breakfast, continental and Mediterranean. In my opinion it is quite complete. I think the value for money at the hotel is perfect, but it shows that it is quite old. It is clean and safe. For more detail, you have the video and photos in the corner.
7days Inn is a hotel chain in China, I think only in the south (Guangzhou and vicinity) but it's possible that there are more in other parts of the country, though I haven't seen any. These hotels are usually intended for Chinese people, so there may be some language difficulties, but if you have a bit of patience you can understand the idea more or less or make a reservation online through their website, to get a spacious and clean room for a very affordable price. Also included in the price is free wireless internet in the rooms or on the computers at reception. For example, a room with a King-size bed (either double or single use) as shown in the video or photos costs between 16 and 18 Euros (depending on the change and location of the hotel).
Whenever we talk about the Sheraton chain, we talk about high-end hotels, about quality and, normally, also about a prime location, and the Sheraton Grand Shanghai is no exception.
The hotel is spotless, clean and classically decorated without missing a single detail. The service is excellent, exactly what you would expect from a high end hotel. It has several restaurants that host Italian, Chinese and Japanese food, which, so far, for those who have tried it, is what gives the most the best while outside of Japan.
However, if we return to the problems of such hotels, you can connect to the internet from your room but by paying absurd amounts that make connecting to the internet into a business, not a service.
The Hotel MingJia is located at street level just above the main railway station TianJin, in one of the side streets leading from the square. It is possibly one of the first hotels you will see as leave the station (depending on the exit). As can imagine, the situation is good. It is a fairly new hotel, and it was built a year ago after remodeling TianJin Station planned because of the Olympics. The rooms are spacious, clean and well air-conditioned and have flat rate LAN internet access included in the room rate. The only bad thing about the room is that the shower tray is not independent from the rest of the bathroom ( in typical Chinese style) and the bathroom walls are translucent glass which makes it less private. You can see this in the attached video. The price is quite reasonable, about €20 per night for a double room (which is still arelatively expensive in TianJin).
This might be the best hostel in Shanghai. It has a great location, great atmosphere, it's friendly, clean and has a friendly staff. There is a bar, a restaurant, a ballroom, a fountain with water and fish, two free computers and Wifi.
It is a spectacular place, if you're traveling in Shanghai.
It's 1 minute from People's Square.
Remember, if you have a Hosteling International discount card, the price for a 6 people dorm room is about 6 euros per bed.
You have a buffet breakfast for 2 and a half euros, with sandwiches, fruit, juice, coffee or tea.
You will not be disappointed!
Guangdong Victory Hotel is a 4 star hotel located on [poi = 72112] Shamian Island [/ poi], in a privileged environment. It has 8 floors, the ninth floor is the roof where you can find a small pool and offers spectacular views. On the first floor there is a dining room, a café, a business center, beauty salon and Massage and Sauna. The main restaurant is located on the second floor. The rooms are spacious and are decorated in a classic style (some are a bit old) but well equipped. The service is good and the staff friendly, almost everyone speaks English and some French. The internet is free (wired) in the rooms. The prices range from between 35 to 45Euros per night. In my opinion, it´s a good place to keep in mind to stay in Guangzhou.
The Hostel Xi'an - Qixian (7 sages) Youth Hostel is a walled enclosure formed by a network of low houses, alleys and courtyards. There are dormitories. There are also private rooms with private bathrooms. The hostel is located in a central area. It is close to the city walls. There is a self-service laundry and a cafeteria area with pictures hanging on the ceiling. We can eat at a reasonable price and the food is good.
I stayed here while in Beijing and the truth is that it was amazing, this well situated, breakfast is good and the rooms as well. We reserved online before we went and we had a pleasant surprise. We left the hotel for a few days to go to Xian and we came back, but it looked they had no rooms and we were put in a suite .... As you can see this was a big surprise! If you don´t want surprises and go to Pekin, without a doubt HOTEL KAPOK P.S. The facade of the hotel is the worst part of it.
The New Asia Hotel has a great location with an affordable price. The rooms are large and bright, but even upon arrival, I was very happy with the look of the hotel and its value, however, I left with a rather bitter taste due to the lousy service.
When I asked if there was internet in the rooms they said yes, but after several hours of working it suddenly cut out. They said it was broken. The next day I called again and was told that it was not broken, but that I had to pay extra in advance to use it. Could they not have said from the beginning?
They also cut the heat at night (to save money?) and I awoke very cold. What kind of service is that? The fact is that if you come to Shanghai, do not come to this hotel (or at least NOT during the winter).
The Central Youth Hostel is a youth hostel and guest house in the central railway station of Beijng, near Metro Station Beijing Railway Station (北京 站), perfectly accessible from Metro Line 2, which is an ideal location as it is near the Gate of Heavenly Peace Square and the Temple of Heaven (although I do not recommend walking to these places, because it will take a 30minute-stroll-and the taxi will only cost two euros). Rooms with ensuite (about 30Euros per night for a double room) with a shared bathroom (15Euros the individual double 20Euros). The shared bathroom is very dirty and there is hot water with good pressure, but sometimes they are full, people are not very clean and you have to bring your own toilet paper ... I prefer the rooms with a private bathroom, although there aren´t not many. Reservations are usually full. The hostel has a small shop, a restaurant, an internet room and a bar (with TV, billiards and darts,) and you can have a good time without leaving the building. Some rooms have a flat rate Internet access (included in the price), but not all of the rooms. The staff speaks English and Chinese as well.
A big hostel in Hanghou, just five minutes walking from the famous Lake. The hostel has a bar and restaurant service, also with cheap, but quality food. This hotel also offers internet, which you have to pay for if you use their computers, but there's free WIFI. The decor is very nice and the staff is very easygoing and friendly. There's a pet dog that usually walks through the living room. To get here you can come by bus from Suzhou as I did. You catch a city bus, the K35, which leaves you a 5 minute walk from the hostel . A highly recommended place.
This hotel is located in the heart of Beijing. Although the hotel is named after the most famous shopping street in the city, it's actually not located on Wangfujing Street, but on a small side street, which was very confusing for us when we first tried to find it. The hotel is everything you would expect from the Hilton chain, pure luxury. The standard room is 50 m2 with a huge closet, an ideal spot to leave your suitcases and clothes, a bathroom with a separate shower area with handheld showerhead, a bathtub from which you can see the huge plasma TV, and a very nice dressing room. The bed is huge and very comfortable, and there is a sofa and a work area with a desk and speaker port for connecting Apple devices, such as an iPod. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool available to all guests, which is ideal for relaxing after visiting Beijing. Another thing that I liked about the hotel was the breakfast, which had plenty to choose from, and even included fresh produce (cheeses, meats, salads, fruits), traditional Chinese dishes, a large bakery and even a gluten-free selection for celiacs. The hotel is great, but, and it has one big BUT... in the room there's no free wifi. If you want to access the hotel's wifi without paying, you have to go down to the lobby.
The Okura Garden Hotel is situated right in the Old French Concession in Shanghai Puxi, just west of the Huangpu River. It is in a building that was built by the French between the year 1924 and 1926 and has influences of art deco, during the occupation of Shanghai, and it is an architectural heritage site in the city of Shanghai. It has 492 rooms: 215 standard rooms, 166 deluxe, 64-enabled offices for meetings and 47 suites. The Presidential Suite has hosted numerous celebrities and personalities from the world of politics, art or fashion. The standard double room costs about 150 euros a night.
This hotel is located in Xi'an, close to Great Mosque of Xi'an, Drum Tower, and Bell Tower. Points of interest in the area include Great Wild Goose Pagoda. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with two bottles of mineral water daily in the room, a 4-star hotel with superior service, as if it were 5-stars. A beautiful wide reception area, shops and a Chinese calligraphy painter, although I recommend doing it in the neighborhood of the artists found in the wall of Xian. It's cheaper there, but if you haven't got time, in the hotel the prices are not high. In the photo you can see the pictures and if you want your name next in Chinese, or else only your name in black with red background. Do not miss the courtyard with a front with carved terracotta warriors.
This place is very relaxing, and it is just a short walk from the center of Yangshuo. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel, we were there for 4 days. The atmosphere is excellent and very relaxed, ideal for enjoying all that the area has to offer. The staff is attentive and friendly. We felt like we were at home. The restaurant menu is great, varied and with incredible prices. They provide all types of tours and travel aids. Recommended 100%.
Situated in the famous historical city of Zhengding, the hotel is located 15 km away from the airport and the train station. It offers a total of 115 elegant rooms, including standard double rooms, suites and presidential suites all equipped with satellite TV and a variety of services. It also has superior rooms and suites that are fully equipped, including luxury facilities provided by the hotel.
The Bridge Hotel Shanghai is only a ten minute ride to one of the most famous and luxurious shopping areas in Shanghai: West Nanjing Road. In addition, it is also near the famous Buddhist temple Jing'An and another of the most famous of the city: the Jade Buddha Temple.
There is a pick-up service from the two city airports. Most important, the Pudong, is about 40 miles from the Bridge. In addition, the main Shanghai Railway Station is only fifteen minutes away by foot.
Of course the hotel has all the required amenities: air conditioning (crucial for a city like Shanghai), telephone, Internet, and mini bar. It is a four-star hotel and the staff speak English.
The price is really good: A standard double room costs between 50 and 60 euros from August to December.
The Peace Hotel in Shanghai is one of the most renowned buildings and dates from the years of Western colonization. It is also without a doubt the most famous hotel in the city, although it is far less popular than it was in its prime. It is the epitome of Art Deco in this Chinese city and is located in front of the promenade of the Bund, where you can see countless skyscrapers.
The Huanting hotel is one of the best hotels in Shanghai. It is currently hosting the football teams competing in the soccer preliminaries in Shanghai. It is located directly across from the Shanghai Stadium, in the south of the city, in an area where you can find all amenities such as shopping centers, cinemas, cafes and restaurants ... In fact this part of Shanghai is famous for Xujiahui stores right next is the Wantiguan metro stop.
The Jin Jiang Tower is a skyscraper located in Changle Road in Shanghai's French Concession, in the southern center of the city.
This is a five star hotel that normally hosts politicians and artists who are visiting the city. Its brochures say that more than 300 heads of state and celebrities from around the world have stayed in this hotel.
The decor of the rooms, which number 648, is Western themed, but they have typical Asian decor as well. It has all kinds of facilities such as a gym, a sauna, meeting rooms, several restaurants, a swimming pool, and a Jacuzzi.
There are numerous brand-clothing stores and malls nearby. There are also many restaurants with various culinary styles.
The Nanshan Hotel is in the tourist city of Hangzhou China. This is a hotel with beautifully maintained facilities at a very affordable price (about 20 euros per person for a double room). It's located on Nanshan Street, which is one of the main streets of the city, south of the famous West Lake (Xi Hu in Chinese), China's most popular lake and the main attraction of the city. On the same street there are several good restaurants (with both Chinese and Western food), bars featuring live music and discos. Also very close by are the public gardens Liu Lang Wen Ying Xue Shi and some of the gems of Chinese architecture that exist in this city. There are 60 rooms, so if there's no special holiday in China, you will almost always be able to stay here no problem without a reservation. The decor is modern Chinese, there's air conditioning, cable TV, DVD and a free Internet station at the entrance for guests.
This backpacker hostel located in Beijing's central street of Nanluoguxiang in the district of Dongcheng, is one of the most popular in the city. If you are visiting Beijing on a tight budget I recommend this place as your first choice of accommodation, since China's network of hostels is not very developed and there is no other establishment in the same category to cast a shadow. There is a laundry service, wireless internet service, free airport pickup and a western restaurant. The double room rates are around 15 euros per person, including breakfast.
