This year saw the first Christmas market of Salou, which unfortunately did not last many days despite having many vendors wanting to stick with it until the 23rh, but the lack of spirit and little desire from the council prevented this. I hope it lasts longer next year, as it was great!
Typical products of Gerona include chocolate bonbons, the black alfarrería and sweet sausage. There is a craft fair here which takes place on the stone bridge every Saturday, between March and June and October and December, with special events such as the Flower Fair and San Narciso. The craft fair sells artisan products of wood, ceramics, leather, textiles, jewelry, clothing and accessories. It makes for a very nice walk through the old town.
Last Sunday, despite the rain, we found this market in Aiguamurcia, just before reaching the door of Santes Creus, just inside the city walls. You could buy and taste typical local products such as fresh bread, cheeses, secallonas, sausage of spring onions, that were all very good indeed.
One of the places that I go to in Tarragona is this little trail that mounts around the cathedral. Specifically I will always find comics as a kid, The Corsair iron type or Literary Jewels youth. But apart from this you can find many things that will delight collectors and the curious: From World War I helmets to old photos, Tin Toys etc. The atmosphere is very nice, quiet and safe, perfect for a Sunday morning, and when you finish you better go grab some tapas for any of the bars around.
MercaArt is a monthly event that is held every first Sunday of the month at Plaza dels Bous, Hostalric. It is organized by the city and is where a group of artists and craftsmen meet to sell their products. We were there this past Sunday and took advantage of the market would be related to the time of carnivals. A few places in the area next to the park sell handmade jewelry, paintings and crafts. The market is from 10h to 15h, and usually there is a terrace with a musical atmosphere.
