At first the restaurant looks like any other beach snack bar, but the menu they have is pretty decent. Except for the hummus, everything was great and you cannot leave without trying the taramosalata (a delicious creamy paste that you spread on bread). We had dinner there the first day and went there again. The service is very good and the food quite rich and plentiful although, depending on the dish, the starters to share between more than two are not.
After visiting several Greek island, Cyprus held no culinary surprise but the highlight was a cozy restaurant in Limassol, with a great atmosphere and where we were able to sample typical cheeses of the island, the Haloumi, something similar to feta, although it tasted much stronger.
This cafe is located on Avenida Amatous and looks its large terrace is always crowded because so many things are served here. They have a pretty large international menu containing pasta, pizza, salads, which are huge by the way, and sandwiches. Also, their coffees, cocktails ans smoothies are to be envied. And for where it is, the price seems fair to me.
Service is very good. Had a bottle of house white medium which was very very sweet. Extensive menu of the very greasy spoon sort. Great for kids as chips good and with everything. Kitchen looked very clean. We ate a pasty, chips and peas each. OMG we should've shared! Pasties were huge. Pastry was soft and stodgy but this is comfort food, we couldn't move for 20 minutes! Basic, cheap and friendly.
